I Think I'm in Over My Head

Yeah, what the subject says.

So I'm writing this story for a challenge, and somehow this story ended up being about Draco Malfoy, Unspeakable, working in the Time Room.

So of course, the story involves Time Turners and the ramifications of fiddling with the past and blah blah blah.

But what's killing me here is my desire to have the theories right. Spacetime. Relativity. Special Relativity. Fourth Dimension. I am no Einstein, nor Mikowski, so this stuff is going right on over my little blonde head. But since it could be important when dealing with the flow of Time, I'm doing my best.

Anybody out there got a simplified way of explaining this stuff to me?

Featured Story at Hawthorn & Vine

Hello my lovelies!

It's just a great time to be a story titled A Pound of Flesh. Not only did people nominate it for the Dramione Awards, people also picked it to be one of the featured stories at Hawthorn & Vine this month!

In conjunction with that honor, the kindly everythursday  and the rest of the gang at H&V asked me to post a Q & A at the H&V LJ, to give everyone a chance to ask me any little thing their hearts desire about the story, or about me. So, here's your chance to ask away, HERE. I will do my absolute best to answer every question, no matter what it is, so could you help a girl out and make me feel like a rock star for a day?

Luffs to all.

The Seconding round has just begun, and if I'm to make it to the final voting round, I need all the help I can get. I am up against some truly amazing stories. So, would you take just a moment to click on the banner and second my story in any or all of the categories you deem fit?

Thank you again to the people who nominated A Pound of Flesh. Throughout the writing process, your support inspired me to keep writing, and now you've all once again shown me I have the best readers in the ship!

A Better World

Okay - so it's a bit counterproductive to my goal of finishing half of my unfinished stories, but last month, I got inspired to write a new one and am just now getting around to posting it.  I've been told this one-shot is so sweet that your heart will get cavities.

  A Better World
Summary: A lost child wanders into Knockturn Alley, and who happens to find him but Draco Malfoy?
Rating: K
Characters:  Draco Malfoy, Albus Potter

Stay tuned for more in the coming weeks and months!

Resolution, 2010

My original resolution was ambitious - for me. I was going to attempt a regular schedule like a normal human being, going to bed before midnight, getting up before eleven on days when I don't have to work, putting aside an hour for exercise and ... basically it was like the worst resolution in the world because there is no way I'm going to accomplish all of that, and then I'll just be down on myself for a whole year for being different.

Thus, I embrace the difference and announce my new resolution: This year - out of the dozen or more unfinished stories on my hard drive, I will finish half. AT LEAST HALF, more if I get really ambitious.

I mean, the characters are just there in limbo. Stories of Draco and Hermione celebrating Christmas, Valentine's Day, getting engaged, etc. Stories with Harry and Ginny as children getting to know each other, or getting engaged (I was a bit engagement happy for a while, see). Original stories with characters left in peril where I ran out of inspiration.

Well, no more.

And even though there's parts of it that make me want to cringe because it's just THAT bad, I'm editing (rewriting) the first fanfic I ever wrote and never posted because it was just THAT bad, and I'm going to post it here, and likely at the pit of voles. I intend it to be the first story I complete in 2010. Oh, and it's a Dramione. Cliches abound. It's just THAT bad. *grin* Prepare yourself.

A Pound of Flesh: Alternate Ending, Epilogue

At long last, here is the alternate ending epilogue to A Pound of Flesh. As I have said previously, this alternate ending grew in length until it took on a life of its own. It was too big to post in one entry to Live Journal, thus this is part two of two. In case you missed it, here is A Pound of Flesh, Alternate ending, Chapter 30

And now, here is the epilogue.

A Pound of Flesh: Alternate Ending, Ch. 30

Thank you for your unending patience. I've finally completed the alternate ending to A Pound of Flesh. Please be aware that there is a very specific reason I chose not to end the story in this angsty manner, as I was trying to convey a message about accepting one's past and understanding that even the horrible things that happen to us shape us into the people we are. But if you aren't a fan of fluffy, happily ever after endings like the official ending to APoF, you're hopefully going to appreciate this uber-angst laden alternate end.

Since this was too big to post all in one entry, here is the first part.
